Tra i più richiesti pianisti della sua generazione, Giuseppe Albanese debutta nel 2014 su etichetta Deutsche Grammophon con un concept album dal titolo “Fantasia”, con musiche di Beethoven, Schubert e Schumann. Segue nel 2015 il suo secondo album DG “Après une lecture de Liszt”, interamente dedicato al compositore ungherese. Del 2018 è la pubblicazione dei Concerti nn.1 e 2 e “Malédiction” di Liszt per Universal Music. A gennaio 2020 esce il suo terzo CD per Deutsche Grammophon: “Invitation to the dance”, dedicato al balletto e contenente musiche di Weber, Delibes, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Debussy e Ravel.
Già “Premio Venezia” 1997 e Premio speciale per la miglior esecuzione dell’opera contemporanea al Concorso “Busoni” di Bolzano, Giuseppe Albanese vince nel 2003 il Primo Premio al “Vendome Prize”, con una giuria presieduta da Sir Jeffrey Tate.
È invitato per recital e concerti con orchestra da autorevoli ribalte internazionali quali Konzerthaus di Berlino, Mozarteum di Salisburgo, Salle Cortot di Parigi, Filarmonica di San Pietroburgo, Metropolitan Museum di New York, collaborando con direttori del calibro di Christian Arming, John Axelrod, Frédéric Chaslin, James Conlon, George Pehlivanian, Jurai Valcuha, solo per citarne alcuni.
In Italia ha suonato per tutte le più importanti stagioni concertistiche (incluse quelle dell’Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia e della RAI di Torino) e in tutti i più importanti teatri. Negli ultimi tempi il Mº Albanese si è distinto per essere stato invitato a suonare in ben dodici delle tredici Fondazioni Liriche italiane.
