Paolo Fresu

Giovanni Hoffer ranks as one of the best and innovative horn players on the European music scene, easily approaching a wide variety of musical languages (classical, jazz, ethnic), being regularly invited to major jazz festivals and series in collaboration with artists such as Quincy Jones, Wayne Shorter, Paolo Fresu, Kenny Wheeler, Francesco Cafiso, Ethan Iverson, and Xavier Girotto. “Giovanni Hoffer is one of the few who can afford to interpret standards that are part of the collective imagination. Instrumental preparation, musicality and interpretative refinement make him one of the most complete musicians on the scene today.” Paolo Fresu

Julius rides againA tribute toJulius Watkins – with Pau Moltó Biosca, jazz horn
The project consists of seven pieces from Julius Watkins’ (“father” of the jazz horn) repertoire and includes several themes by Watkins himself. In addition, to emphasize the absolute uniqueness of the project, there are also two original pieces expressly written by Giovanni Hoffer and Pau Moltó Biosca, in a successful mixture of musical styles that owes much to the valuable arrangement by Massimo Morganti.
